I've also heard him on Laguna Beach, In a NY Minute, 50 First Dates ( a really awesome cover of Melt With You, that dorky 80's tune), MTV and VH1, obviously, I've seen him on various talk shows, and a shitload of stuff on the internet. Where did everyone first hear of him? Maybe I should start a new thread for that, and new fans compared to old fans? I mean I think all fans no matter when you started listening to him, are just equal fans. But I have been listening him for over 5 years! My friend who moved from NY, where I live, to Cali in 1998 I think or 1999. And one day, I think the day that changed my music life forever (maybe not, I'm just being melodramatic) he told me, you have to listen to this guy! He had seen him at Java Joe's, and from then on, I loved him . So that's my story, and I'm stickin' to it. I think it's amazing how much he has evolved, and yet what amazing abilities he still retains. I recently acquired A Jason Mraz Demonstration, and you can tell how much younger he is, but he is still absolutely unfreakinbelievable! That's why I love him, he's so versatile, and such a musical rarity in a world where so much sucks! Okay, so now that I have written a novel, what about everyone else?

Anyway. I was just thinking how I first heard of Mraz. My roomates worked at the Wellness Center @UM (Miami) starting in May '03. The Wellness Center always seemed to be a little bit ahead of the radio (maybe because college students were controlling the music). They came home talking about how they heard this dude's song and that I would like it. They always forgot his name. My friend Amy was like, "it's something about seeing fireworks and the remedy is an experience"...yeah. She said she heard his name mentioned in the same breath as Dave Matthews, so that's where she checked for him in the CD store. Mraz is close enough to Matthews. Go figure. I listened and was immediately hooked. Thus, 3 new fans were born. Awwwww. Marisa "Fortune is nothing more than loving what you do."
