Music, Magic, & Making Love
Impersonation Jason: doing my best
Magician's Reveal,"Ta-Da."
(Time-Travel)
May 2004: "The Tour of the Curbside Prophets" crossed the US. It was a concept tour of acoustic acts playing solo as if busking on a street
corner. I brought along Hawaiian Slack-Key guitarist, Makana and Pop Jazz Genius Raul Midon to fill the bill. Both were fairly unknown at the time. But I
was eager to share the stage with musicians that would surprise audiences. Providing pre-show and intermission atmosphere as well as collaborating
throughout the show were DJ Christian Gamez and Percussionist Jen Lowe. The results were fantastic. Each act segued into the next so there was never a
moment without music or live entertainment from the moment you entered the theatre.
(Present Day)
April 2008: Welcome to version 2.0. "Music, Magic & Make Peace" is essentially the same concept but with entirely different ingredients. This
time we're bringing the prodigy of poetry and party, my long time friend and collaborator, Bushwalla. Also on board: the harmonious duo that is the
Make Peace Brothers. And to host the show, we've invited the world class Magician and TV personality, Justin Kredible. So expect the unexpected.
(And for those in doubt of a multi-billed line-up, fear not. I still get plenty of stage time!)
This is a show that originated in the coffee houses, clubs, and house parties of San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco and we are delighted to have
found a way to pack it all in a bus and bring it close to your town. We are a genuine community of lovers, out to Make Peace, and of course, a little Music
& Magic.
We'll travel like a circus from town to town and anticipate the show beginning as soon as the bio-diesel buses arrive. So don't be surprised by
impromptu sidewalk performances; juggling, freestyle games, and close-up magic.
And once in the theatre it's anything goes. Who plays when and who plays what with whom (and how) is anybody's guess.
