two thousand years

there’s a face on the sun, it’s telling stories of pirates & fairies
“time, is nothing but time” that’s what it repeats, once and again
it has being all over the world, for the last two thousand years
two thousand years of days, nights, and simple lives

there’s a smile upon her face, the one that God put on her
“love, is nothing but love” that’s what she repeats, once and again
she grabs a guitar and in a second, she writes a rock n’ roll tune
two thousand years of lust and lovely siluettes in the night

there’s a famous rock star inside of that 40-year-old little boy
“rock, is nothing but rock” that’s what he repeats, once and again
he’s not old, he’s just older; he’s not wise, he’s just wiser
two thousand miles of life, music and singing the blues

there’s a uninspired writer, writing about theorems and Shakespeare
“to be, or not to be” that’s what he repeats, once and again
a silly line, a poetic triumph, an epic story, a brave princess
two thousand miles of rhymes, smiles and writing dead lines

there’s a crying lonely lady, inside the comedy house of joy
“laughs, only sad laughs” that’s what she repeats, once and again
a comic phrase, a rapid pace, all inside the mix with stupid grace
two thousand hours and none has done so much for her

there’s a lonely child with the biggest smile I’ve ever seeing
“tears are useless, they are” that’s what he repeats, once and again
he starts laughing so hard, he starts to dance around the moon
tow thousand hours and more of this silliness and such

there’s an unknown man, who is much more than just a man
“so long, it has being so long” that’s what he repeats, once and again
he stares in disbelieve at the shocked couple across the street
two thousand years and three more had gone by him, by us

there’s a politic with a trustful look, a very good vibe
“your call, it’s your call” that’s what he repeats, once and again
he smiles with love in his eyes, and a dream inside his heart
two thousand years and two thousand more are on the way

two thousand years and two thousand more are on the way
two thousand years, two thousand names, two thousand stories,
two thousand years, two thousand of each of us, two thousand faces
two thousand years and two thousand more are on the way
