Not sure I believe this at this point but my mother called to tell me that Michael Jackson may have had a heart attack and died. She heard it on Fox News (so
take that for what you will) and I guess TMZ are the ones saying he passed away so we'll see I guess.

CNN says he's in a coma. Either way my thoughts go out to his family. |

Currently watching CNN .. it's been confirmed...
"Breaking News Micahel Jackson dead CNN confirms with LA coroner" (quote on my tv) very sad. I was in California a month ago talking to a new friend from Switzerland about how she saw the paparazzi swarm his house in LA.. and now he's gone.. it's weird. And right before his comeback tour. RIP Michael. -Hannah M. |

A friends sent me a text message about him being dead... I then called her up with tears in my eyes and asked if it was true. I turned the tv and the internet
on. I have been sitting here for the past two hours in front of the computer screen and trying to collect my thought.. but I can only think of him being
dead... I cannot belive it. I was a big fan and as a child I wanted to marry him. He was and will always be the King of Pop.:(R.I.P.

Wow. I got the call just before I came into work and there still wasn't much info. As soon as I got to work the whole place was buzzing about it and it
seems like everyone I know got a text message from someone telling them he had passed. So sad.
I remember rocking out in the living room when I was 6 or 7, wearing the big cans and reading the back of my dad's Off the Wall LP. I made a long-play tape with Thriller on one side and a Huey Lewis record on the other. I wore that thing out. I bet I still have that cassette somewhere. I may have to break out the HIStory collection this weekend, I haven't listened to it in years. RIP ~Darek

It's so hard to wrap my head around the fact that the larger-than-life King of Pop, the guy that moonwalked and dominated the music world the way he did is
gone. Underneath it all he was a real person with a beautiful heart, and I hope he can be remembered for the good that he did.
RIP, Michael. |

The pop generation has lost a king. Those who've been to Michael's concert is feeling very lucky to have watched it.. I'm guessing people will
storm to youtube to get the embed code for any of michael's video, people will start hangin their pictures with Michael on the wall, and there will be
numerous tribute concerts all around the world...

I don't remember the first Michael Jackson song I heard but I do remember recording Michael Jackson's Ghost on VHS when it would play on VH1. My
brother and I would dance around the living room and do somersaults like we were in the movie.

I honestly still can't believe he's gone. He is such a giant figure in the music world, I mean who doesn't love Michael Jackson? I remember my mom
had a cassette tape with all of his hits on it and she used to play it for me and my brother when we were little. Now, whenever I hear 'Billie Jean'
it instantly takes me back to my childhood. He will definitely be missed. Right before his big comeback tour too. Such a shame.

When I heard Brian Williams say that the king of pop has died, I literally got chills all over.
Michael Jackson was such an inspiration, for musicians and just everyone in general that ever heard him. His Best of album is always in my car, he's for sure going to be missed in my book. He'll always be an immortal pop icon though. |

"The pop generation has lost a king."
did you totally steal that from my twitter! its chill meanwhile... ive been oddly horribly sad because of his death. i mean.. i should feel sad. but i dont know if i was preparing to be this sad. i feel like ive been a fan of his my entire life. i dont remember a time when his music wasnt a part of it in some way. i remember when i really starting getting into music and noticing pop and rap in the mid-90s (when i was about 10)... and he had been there even BEFORE that. it wasnt like i ever had to discover him. he was just always there. his music has always just been so astounding and relevant to me. he really is a king. he was almost make-believe. he lived an extraordinary life full of praise and torment, seemingly from the same audience. he had his own demons that never could escape him.. and its almost because of those that he seems almost super-human. i miss the guy. just an instance of what hes done for me.. i was a fly on the wall through my childhood and even a bit through highschool... and then my choir director starting planning out some musicals and told me to audition.. but i didnt know what to sing.. so i just sorta reached into random songs i knew and pulled out The Way You Make Me Feel and sang it acapella... and i got into the musical, which had a small cast, but i ended up not having a large part. but i came back next year with more confidence and sang the same song again for my audition for bye bye birdie.. and i ended up getting the role of conrad birdie.... which VERY MUCH broke me out of any remaining shell i had at that point. i ended up giving an interview for the play section of the paper and told them that michael jackson is the reason i got the part. obviously other things went into breaking me out as well... it wasnt just michael by any means and i had a lot of influence throughout highschool that led me to be the person i became... but that song helped. i had to convince myself to audition, but i felt confident singing the song, and it ended up getting me a couple roles.. which ended up being my first times ever performing for a large audience.. and those experienced helped my confidence in performing ever since... which is incredibly important to me now more so than ever. anyway.. aside from all that... michael was an amazing artist and his talents are going to be missed greatly throughout the world. i hope that there are many more songs that havent been releases so we can still celebrate new music from a true legend. one note though... keith olbermann reported earlier that mj felt bad about his falling out with paul mccartney in the 80s and 90s.. so in his will, he left what he still had of the beatles music to paul. i hope its true.
