He's usually pretty tired and the group has to get ready to go to the next city. The tour schedule's pretty tight this time. However, you should check your local radio stations to see if they have any contests for official meet-and-greet opportunities. There were several great ones here in California (didn't win any...darn!) and I'd bet you can find some in Vancouver as well. Some shows have also had charity auctions benefitting MusiCares, where you could bid on pairs of tickets for the front and the highest bid won meet-and-greet passes. I'm not sure if those have ended yet, although it's unlikely there is one for Vancouver. SO LUCKY ... thanks for the welcome to the board! and yeah i am totally looking forward to tonights show in vancouver. oh yeah did anyone have any probs with cameras or vidcams ??? i was thinking of bringing my videocamera...

If It Kills Me (during which most of Lavese los Manos & His Orchestra ukulele-light-rock their asses off.) Mary Jane, during which the congregation will stand and do the two-step. A brief discussion of Toca's accessories. Then Jason has his own OMG moment. Bella Luna - light direction by Mraz. Guitar, bass and trumpet solos Beautiful Mess - Dear Audience: what's up with the hooting, I wonder? Cheers, Cat Live High (all rise) Dynamo of Volition is still a great time packed into 5 short minutes. I'm Yours w/ 3 Little Birds ============= piss break ============== (please remain standing for The Presentation of the Gnome…) 1000 Things Lucky w/ Lisa Build Me Up, Butterfly No Stopping Us w/ band intros and pix, during which Jason demonstrates how to pat his head and rub his stomach with a Polaroid camera. Buttercup (You've Got It All) The new guy is Bruce Hughes, from Austin, TX. I haven't been paying attention real good, so I'm not sure when he got here, but I'm impressed he has any idea what's goin' on. And he's not the band member who hit the most clunkers tonight…. I'm just sayin'. The seated crowd was subdued at first, but Jason gave us permission to get up and dance, so we did. In fact we needed a lot of direction tonight, but the folks in Vancouver are happy to do as they're told. My first Mraz concert .(long over due) We were able to score second row centre and were seating right behind the 2 girls who had been upgraded by the ticket fairy. Geek in the Pink? These were the bread and butter But it's okay, I have the live albums to get my fill of live songs. And it was amazing, minus the screaming girls who all congregated next to me (I was in Row 2 end of right centre)... and just screamed, and managed to step on my nice jacket that was in my chair. Yep, crazy fan girls. Other than that, it was pretty amazing!

Did you all see the sign on the second level that Jason was laughing about? "Sit on my face Jason Mraz" hahahaha - I nearly peed myself I was laughing so hard. p.s. I, however, agree that it would be nice to hear some of those songs every once in a while. There doesn't seem to be much variety in the setlists. With that said I can't wait to see them in Portland!

And, in fact, they do change every night. I think Jason's done a better job varying his setlist this tour than he did for the Mr. A-Z tour. The balance between a greatest hits show and a varied setlist is a hard one to keep, I think. As the venues get larger, more and more of the audience would tell him "I payed to hear you play 'Wordplay' (or YAIB, or The Remedy, or Your Body Is a Wonderland) -- now feckin' play it." Imagine how many people would go home mad if he didn't play I'm Yours every night! Now, variety pleases those of us who go to several shows a tour but, more importantly, I can only guess that it's more motivating for the band. The energy in the theatre was high (after some prompting from Jason to move from 'chair dancing' to standing) - Very interactive, chatty, enjoyable, relaxed. Great music, of course, and excellent "superband" accompaniment. I especially enjoyed Jason's finale message - "keep the kindness going that you share tonight and share it in your community, your family, at work, in traffic.. and most importantly practice gratitude" LOVE that. Posts: 944 (11/09/08 03:56 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	sorry, so late. damn, sandman hotel for no free high speed internet access. cheers!! ============================================================ omg, omg, omg!!! that was the best freakin' concert we've EVER been to. it had authorized dancing, awesome chitchat, and what else? the amazing talents of mraz and his superband!!! this audience was a drastic difference from spokane. i wanted to yell out 'beat that, spokane' but no negative energy was to be brought into this theater of gratitude to the man. you know good stuff (dance-worthy) is coming when you see his black and white electric guitar appear. yeow! (music to watch girls by) we danced from start to finish with a brief break for 'beautiful mess' which was beautiful. midway through the setlist we kicked off our shoes and danced like 'dancing with the stars' only without cloris leachman and her bosoms (lefty and dwight). i know you'll get that one, Cat. anyway... the dynamo dance. can we say that was awesome? there are no words to express our pleasure to the dance other than the increased heart rate. we certainly loved this aerobic exercise the second night. the most excellent thing that accommodated our dancing were our seats. no obstruction for our fellow concert goers. so if you saw us dancing like mad, it's because we did it without inhibition. was it just us but was 'i'm yours' awesome the 10, 000th time around? that was some tough whistling that mraz threw out. he actually was able to get through it without smiling so much. also, it was the audience that fueled this awesome night. the encore was ear piercing. when he came back with 'no stopping us' as part of the encore, that went on for at least ten minutes or more. i'm not complaining and we certainly didn't want it to end. we absolutely loved carlos' solo with jason scatting. that's uber cool. it was a great segue into 'butterfly'. i was so hot i wanted take off my top. oops, did i type that? what else do you have up your sleeve, mraz? this was so amazing and we wouldn't have given up our tickets despite the many offers outside the venue. kristie was so mraz-toxicated that she thought everything was funny afterwards even the wanna be drunk paris hiltons outside the bar down the street. it looks like kristie had a mraz-gasm. she was all excited and now she's sleepy and content. we spied Cat, Leon, and Micaela. it was great to see you guys even though it was just a holler from above. oh, and sorry about the proclamation of my sweaty pits. thanks for the thumbs up, Micaela. in gratitude and livin' high, lynda and kristie (written after the show on saturday, 11/08/08) Lynda Version b.31

(Lame haha.) I've watched so many of his live performances on youtube, and I must say he definitely met my expectations, and in fact exceeded them. Jason is definitely the definition of an artist and entertainer. He connected with the crowd and by the end of the night, everybody was screaming for more and on their feet screaming their heads off. Despite having not so great seats, it was amazing to be there. I especially loved the quirky jokes and the dancing that he did haha! Anybody else enjoy the Dynamo of Volition high five's and down lows? And I was also slightly disappointed he did not play any of his old stuff (YAIB, Geek in the Pink, Wordplay, etc). There's this part of me that wishes I could have seen him back in his Java Joe days. That would be truly a dream come true! Now, I won't be able to go to any other concert cause I'll be expecting a Jason Mraz performance, which I think is one of a kind. (I'm slightly biased). All and all, I'd rate this concert a solid 5/5. Crosses fingers for another appearance in Vancouver in the future
