Well I don't reallyknow if we're BFGF...
But we've been hanging out every day and nothing has changed. I met his parents last night and he's coming home with me on Thursday to meet mine. :- ] Last night I said something like, "well it doesn't matter cause we're not together" and he said "well we might as well be! we practically are!" wtf does that mean?? we're hanging out tonight...and tomorrow...and thursday....and probably all weekend? haha he doesn't want to date anyone else and neither do I. So I guess things are looking up?

so I'm planning a trip to Chicago for the beginning of September (4th-7th to be exact), and I've never been. right now it's just myself and my friend Jackie, but we're trying to get the boys to go along, too. have any of you guys been to Chi-town? we're planning on taking the Amtrak down there (we've never been on a train, either  ), and there are SO many
hotels that we don't know where to stay. plus.....we have no idea what to do down there.
I went on the Chicago Visitors Bureau website, and that helped a little, but I really don't know what to expect, or how to plan. (I haven't been outside of metro-Detroit in about 3 years....I think it's time I kick up my heels a bit!) happy hump day! |

Yes, I've been to Chicago! I used to go to school down there.. Amtrak is nice because it's simple and easy, but it's not always dependable, so if
you're making plans to be somewhere at a particular time close to when you're supposed to get into Chicago, I wouldn't recommend it.. I've
usually had about an 30-60 minute average delay when on the tracks. As far as visiting spots.. I'm not really sure what you're into, but there IS a ton
to do there! I love the Contemporary Museum of Art, Blueman Group show at Briar Street Theater (you can sometimes get good student discounts if you order the
tickets early enough), Shed's Aquarium and Navy Pier of course.. taking a boat tour or even a bus tour is a lot of fun too..
As far as dining, if you're around the Millennium/Grant Park area (famous for hosting Lollapalooza!) then definitely hit up Park Grille for a nice meal.. It's kind of pricey, but you can at least check out the menu for good food. Otherwise, the classic Cheesecake Factory is ALWAYS amazing.. it's near the Hancock Building on Michigan Avenue (which also hosts at restaurant at the top of it, but it's extremely pricey and has a pretty fancy dress code). Since you are staying for a couple days, be sure to hit up the Red Line railway on the CTA (Chicago's public transportation system) and get off at the Belmont stop.. They have some really neat vintage shops, an awesome Hooka bar, and unique restaurants.. Very cool area! For hotels.. I would check out priceline.com or one of those discount hotel websites for a good deal.. You can usually find something with a really decent price, but if money isn't an issue, DEFINITELY stay at the Embassy Suites waterfront hotel.. Its elevator is lined with glass windows all the way up, and riding it, you get amazing views of Lake Michigan, and Embassy Suites are nice because they have the complimentary breakfast, so you don't have to worry about finding somewhere to eat breakfast in the morning/carrying or buying groceries. Please be sure to get some Jamba Juice for me (order a Pink Star.. it's not on the menu, but if you like slighty tart berry flavored smoothies, this is it for you), and message or e-mail (afisher1@luc.edu) me if you want to know anything else! it, my life is still quite the borefest. Boys suck and i'm trying to figure out a lot in that department right now....Stresses me out, haha.
Greta, darling. I'm so sorry I didn't follow up with you about my trip to Michigan. Everything got so chaotic. I was there for such a short time and all of my friends seemed to want to do everything at the same time. I had no spare time at all, the last time I was there I had ridiculous amounts of free time. I should be returning again sometime soon, I will definitely let you know when! Maybe there will be a concert going on that we can go to or something. I definitely want to do coffee or lunch or something, though! I will let you know when I know. Also, this time I had no transportation of my own whatsoever, so hopefully next time I will for atleast part of my trip. I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do next year. I don't want to stay here but the only problem is there are so many places I want to go. I feel like i'm being pulled in 10 million directions and don't know what to do. I really just can't even seem to figure out where it is that I, myself truly want to go. Blah... Anyway...I hope everyone else is doing FANTASTIC! - Juli -

I've been a little withdrawn, but a lot busy with life lately. my work schedule will NOT settle down....I'm taking over the sales position while our director is on preggo leave next month, so I've been training a lot this past week to make sure I have the computer applications and processes down 
plus boyfriend is keeping me busy. plus my stepsister and her boyfriend finally moved out of the house, so the last weekend of June was nothing but packing and moving. and then my dad and stepmom are on vacation in Florida this week (and guess who got to take them to the airport at 6 freaking AM this past Friday?? THIS girl), so I've got the house to myself till next Monday. I think that's it for me lately.....LOVING the weather lately! gorgeous. hi meg! hi juli! since it seems like we're the only people posting anymore.... how are youse guys? |

My life is starting to pick up a little bit, haha. I've been getting really dizzy lately and we don't know why so I have to go to the doctor on Friday. Hopefully there's nothing wrong with me. It's been getting worse lately though and it's kind of scary when it happens sometimes. Blahh whatever. I'm starting to work a few more hours, which is good. I still need another job, though. Why does the one guy I like have to be too busy writing hits to notice? Fuck life. Class starts tomorrow. I shouldn't bitch, it's only one class for 2 hours a day for the next 4 weeks. Ew. |
