I like how i have to clarify why I was there to try and grasp some credibility... To an extent some artists approach do have less emphasis on 'cracking the UK' but at the same time it's more about not putting an emphasis on breaking the UK commercially . I was thinking about this recently, and I'm of the opinion that only a small portion of UK bands really make it here in any substantial way lately. Of course a load of US artists crack the UK, but they do it a lot easier, and, what I meant was, they wouldn't be bothered if they didn't if they're big in America, I wouldn't be if I was an American artist. I think UK artists try and try to crack America but fail time after time apart from the odd few. Sorry I was being dopey yesterday! It's easier to break the UK because it's smaller making it easier t get word (and music ) out there so to speak. I also find as a rule US artists are more used to gruesome touring- long hours, long driving journeys - varying climates etc so they are more than equipped to tour the UK where as the opposite doesn't apply so much. UK artists aren't used to slogging like that so they maybe pick like 5 metropolitan cities in the states and think that will be enough to break the US.
